Welcome to my bard guide. This guide is intended to be a starting reference. Most of the information here is experienced first-hand, although a substantial part was gleaned from message boards, web sites, and talking with other bards. As such, don't hold statements made in this FAQ as gospel, but merely a starting point for your exploration into Vana'diel. So, where to begin? The bard class is for the hyperactive. Once you come into your full power, you will _never_ be resting. here's always something to do. In any given battle you'll probably end up singing between 4-8 songs with the odd spell thrown in there every once in a while. The class also involves a lot of running.

To start gardening you need to purchase a flower pot which can also be made if you have the 2 trade skills goldsmithing and blacksmithing. Would be much easier to purchase it however. Flower pots can cost about 1,000 gil. Money makes money, in this case, gils makes gils. This is an investment of time and gils. After getting your pot, you will need some seeds which drops off various sapling type mobs or can be purchased at some merchants.

Buy a few stacks of Windhurst Teal leaves, about 400 gil in AH, cheaper if bought in Windhurst. Buy a few stacks of Distilled water, 120 gil per stack at NPC in S. Sandoria Pub. Buy a few stacks of Wind Crystals, about 1.2k gil. Head out to where the sheeps are.

Ores, Iron and Zinc sells pretty fast in Final Fantasy XI. Zeruhn Mines have many of these resources. Zeruhn is near Bastok City, you'll have easy access to the Bastok Mines, AH and your Mog House. Just an FYI again, the higher your fame the cheaper the pick axes will cost for you to mine.
